Tahoo Ski Day

So... MJ and George haven't been skiing for 9 years. Caky and Joepa are in town (so we have sitters). MJ says "Let's go skiing Tuesday before Xmas." George reworks all the Tuesday obligations; MJ finds us a place to stay; and we're off. We were all in SF Monday afternoon seeing the Nutcracker, so MJ and I left directly from there. It took us 4.5 hours to get to Truckee due to (1) rush hour; and ... |

(2) chain requirements for the last 40 miles. Always a pleasure to be installing chains when it's cold, wet and dark. Also, imaging my surprise when the built-in bungee cord on this one broke! Fortunately, we had other bungeys so we weren't SOL. |

They had forecast snow squalls and wind for the next day, but... when we got up, we had wall-to-wall sun and just the slightest breeze to contend with- perfect! |

Snow boarding fool ;-) MJ boarded all day; after lunch she hooked up with some of her MBA buddies and they worked her hard, doing the blacks on the backside. |

And George did well, too, managing only 1 fall all day! All in all, a terrific day on the snow- one of our best ever! HERE's to many more! |
